- We understand that your data belongs to you. You can therefore inform us at any time if you no longer authorise us to process them or if you wish to amend them.
- PIH has adapted this website to the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.

What is personal data and what do we collect?
Personal data is defined as “any information relating to identified or identifiable natural persons”. To this must be added the different information that, when collected, can lead to the identification of a specific person. The most obvious examples are a person’s name or ID, but the email or even an IP address used at a particular time is also considered personal data.
The categories of data that are processed are:
- Identification data
- Postal and email addresses
- Commercial Information
No special categories of personal data are processed (i.e. data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data intended to uniquely identify a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation).
Who is responsible for processing your data?
PIH is the proprietary trade name of PIH Potugal Innovation Hub Lda, through which it sells consulting services in innovation and development of smart solutions. The services marketed comply with the legal requirements in force in the European Union.

What do we process your data for?
At PIH we treat the information provided to us by interested parties confidentially, for the following purposes:
- Maintain a single user record for all Services, thereby improving their management.
- Manage, where appropriate, requests for the purchase of services.
- Manage your subscription as a user.
- Send you information about the services offered, if you have authorized us to do so.
- Send the Newsletter or newsletter, if you have authorized us to do so.
Please be advised that on some occasions it may be necessary to process your personal data to comply with legal obligations, or in relation to any contractual relationship we may have with you.
In all other cases, and where appropriate, we will ask for your consent to process your personal data.
How long do we keep your data?
The data will be stored:
- As long as the commercial relationship is maintained.
- Until its removal is requested by the interested party.
- During the years necessary to comply with legal obligations.
What is the legal basis for processing your data?
Both subscribing to our blog and registering via a form are free and voluntary for the user, so the legitimate basis for the processing of their personal data is their consent.
Where is your data stored?
We use a variety of applications to obtain and store certain data. To ensure your privacy, these apps are subject to strict regulations. Most of the data is stored in the European Union. For data sent to countries outside the EU, we only use companies that offer sufficient protection according to European law. In some cases, we have vendors that have Binding Corporate Rules or that have adhered to Privacy Shields.
Which third parties do we share your data with?
In some cases, we provide your data (only when necessary) to third parties. However, we will never sell your data to third parties. As mentioned above, in some situations we work with third-party service providers. These providers may only use your data to provide the relevant services. Therefore, they may not use that information for their own purposes or pass it on to third parties. We may share the data we collect through cookies with the parties that create those cookies. This is explained in more detail in our Cookie Policy. We may also be required by law to disclose your data to government agencies or other parties. If this is the case, we disclose only what is strictly necessary.
Data transfers to third countries
In order to provide the services strictly necessary for the development of the activity, PIH shares data with the following providers under their respective privacy conditions:
- Google Analytics: a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., a Delaware company with its principal place of business at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files placed on your computer, to help PIH analyze how users use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of AI (including your IP address) will be transmitted directly to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
- MailChimp: The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a, domiciled in the U.S. More information at: https://mailchimp.com/ (The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a). Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a processes the data for the purpose of providing its email marketing services to PIH.
What are your rights when you provide us with your data?
Any person has the right to obtain confirmation as to whether PIH is processing personal data concerning him/her.
Data subjects have the right to access their personal data, as well as to request the rectification of inaccurate data or, where applicable, to request its deletion when, among other reasons, the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
In certain circumstances, data subjects may request the limitation of the processing of their data, in which case we will only keep it for the exercise or defense of claims.
In certain circumstances and for reasons related to their particular situation, data subjects may object to the processing of their data. In this case, PIH will no longer process the data, except for compelling legitimate reasons or for the exercise or defense of possible claims.
You can exercise your rights materially as follows: You have the right to access, rectify and delete the data, as well as other rights, indicated in the additional information, which you can exercise by contacting the address of the data controller
If you have given your consent for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent prior to your withdrawal.
If you consider that your rights regarding the protection of your personal data have been violated, especially when you have not been satisfied in the exercise of your rights, you can lodge a complaint with the competent Data Protection Control Authority via their website: www.cnpd.pt.

The personal data we process at PIH comes from your express consent and comes from:

- Subscription Forms
- Customer Registration Forms
Security and confidentiality of your data
PIH has adopted technical, organizational and security measures that guarantee the confidentiality, integrity and quality of the information contained therein, in accordance with the provisions of the data protection regulations in force.
In particular, on the PIH website, communication between the user and the server is done with the data encrypted using the HTTPS protocol, which is the highest degree of protection of user confidentiality that can be implemented today.
At PIH we try to ensure the security of your personal data when it is submitted outside of our website, and we ensure that these companies respect confidentiality and have adequate mechanisms in place to protect it. All of these companies have an obligation to ensure that this information is handled in accordance with laws and regulations related to data privacy.
